The National Day of Prayer on Thursday, May 6th will be observed in DuPage County at the Naperville Municipal Center, 400 S. Eagle Street, Naperville, from noon to 1:00 p.m. Please try to be a part of this ecumenical outpouring of prayer for our nation. For more information, please call 815-436-7088. To believe that a National Day of Prayer is unconstitutional is to be totally ignorant of our founding documents. When did we stop teaching about our founding fathers in our schools? More importantly - why?
Also on May 6th, and 7th and 8th, we are being asked to participate in one million rosaries for the unborn. Please go to the following website to register the number of rosaries you are willing to pray for the intention of the end of surgical and non-surgical abortions www.SaintMichaelTheArchangelOrganization.org. You are asked to pray at least one rosary for this intention but are welcome to pray more. Let’s make this a huge success and storm Heaven on behalf of the innocent little ones.
And on Thursday, May 6th you are invited to a special Mass to honor the six recipients of the Bishop Blanchette Scholarship Fund. The Scholarship was founded in 1983 by the Joliet Diocesan Council of Catholic Women to honor our beloved Bishop Romeo Blanchette by providing assistance to young Catholics who wished to attend a Catholic high school. This year six $3,000 scholarships will be awarded at the Mass celebrated by Bishop Imesch at the St. Charles Pastoral Center, 101 Airport Road, Romeoville, at 7:00 p.m. It will be followed by a lite reception where you can meet and congratulate the young Scholarship winners on their achievements in grammar school and for their desire to pursue a Catholic education. All are welcome.
This movie promotion has been around for a long time but I guess it is still active because I’ve received it from so many people. The Blood Money film will be a real eye-opener for a lot of people if they can just get it released into theaters. We are being asked to click on the website and view the trailer. If enough people visit the website it makes the likelihood of it getting into theaters more possible. It is interesting to note the trailer opens with Carol Everett explaining how they hooked young people into having abortions by first breaking down their natural modesty, separating them from their parents’ values, and introducing them to birth control. The cause and effect of birth control actually increases the likelihood of pregnancy because teens get involved in risky behavior that they wouldn’t even think of without what they think is “safe sex.” Carol was a speaker at one of our Illinois Citizens for Life benefit dinners and she had the audience spellbound with her story of how they knowingly corrupted our youth to profit from selling them abortions http://www.bloodmoneyfilm.com/. But we already knew that, didn’t we? Please check it out.
Some of you know Dan Gura, the fearless prayer warrior who led so many pickets of Dr. Goyal’s home in Inverness, (the same doctor who is the owner of four abortion mills in DuPage County plus three more in other locations.) Dan has written a gripping novel entitled God’s Avenger: Michael,The Imprecatory Angel. He uses his knowledge of Chicago politics and the neighborhoods as well as his intimate familiarity with pro-life efforts to weave an amazing story. His book is available on-line at Amazon.com for $15.59 plus s&h and Barnes & Noble for $14.39 plus s&h or you can send him a check for $19.99 and he’ll send you an autographed copy. Send your check to Dan Gura, P.O. 848, Lake Zurich, IL 60047. If you are deeply involved with the pro-life movement you are going to find this book fascinating.
Congratulations to Bishop Thomas Paprocki, the newly appointed Bishop of the Springfield Diocese. He will certainly be welcomed by the Catholics of Springfield and we pray that he will be happy in their gorgeous newly renovated Cathedral. Congratulate the Bishop at email@example.com and watch the Michael Voris tribute to Bishop Paprocki on the VORTEX website. http://www.youtube.com/user/RealCatholicTV#p/a/u/0/S2g5mXyCQOU
Someone has said if Christians really understood the full extent of the power we have available through prayer, we might be speechless. Did you know that during World War II there was an adviser to Churchill who organized a group of people who dropped what they were doing every day at a prescribed hour for one minute to collectively pray for the safety of England, its people and peace?
There is now a group of people organizing the same thing here in America . If you would like to participate: Every evening at 9:00 pm Eastern Time (8:00 PM Central) (7:00 PM Mountain) (6:00 PM Pacific), stop whatever you are doing and spend one minute praying for the safety of the United States, our troops, our citizens, and for a return to a Godly nation. If you know anyone else who would like to participate, please pass this along.
Are you subscribing to www.LifeSiteNews.com yet? It’s well worth your time. Like getting a daily newspaper that covers all the moral issues you care about. Another great source is www.CatholicCitizens.org, full of great information you should know.
And this is a gift that is so amazing I can’t imagine who put it together. Click below to see the ENTIRE BIBLE on one page. You can click on any chapter and verse and it is at your fingertips. There is a dropdown menu where you can choose any version of the Bible that you prefer. My favorite is the New American Bible because it coincides with the readings at Mass. This is something you are going to want to copy and paste into a new email and save it for yourself or to pass on to friends.

- To all the amazing women out there who have accepted the gift of precious life that God has given you, may you have a very happy and blessed Mother’s Day. Thank you for all you do to make this world a better place. Just a final little thought from a lady who really knows what she’s talking about. Kind of fun to listen to and she has a great message. She talks fast so listen up. http://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=WUQYJ77qa50
- And as always, we invite you to join us on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 1186 Roosevelt Road from 8:00 a.m. until about 10:00 a.m. to pray for the young people who are about to make the mistake of their lives. It is so amazing that since the prayer warriors at the ACU clinic in Hinsdale keep increasing in numbers the number of abortions performed there keeps decreasing. They are out there at 5:30 a.m. by the dozens just to stand and pray while a couple people talk to the girls. They literally have three clients and of that number one couple leaves while we continue to have fifteen or more. If that doesn’t convince you of the power of prayer I don’t know what will.
- We could really use your help and we truly appreciate the faithful people who do come out, especially our rosary group that meets every Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. If you just want to get your feet wet, try coming out to pray with them when most of the girls are already inside for the day. You meet the most wonderful people outside of abortion clinics. They need prayers at Access in Downers Grove as well, 75th Street, just a couple blocks east of 355. This is truly changing minds and hearts one at a time on the front lines of this battle against the culture of death. Your prayers from wherever you happen to be are very welcome as well.
~ God Bless, Carol
Our good friend and stalwart pro-life supporter, Dan Gura, has used his talent for writing to publish a truly pro-life novel that fascinates and challenges. It's easy to complain that very little is written in the form of a novel that has a pro-life message. Well, here is that novel. Please support Dan as he launches his writing career. Now, I would love to see this novel become a movie!
Dan can be contacted at: firstname.lastname@example.org

A Fascinating Read: God’s Avenger
Posted by Joe Scheidler (May 12, 2010 at 3:49 pm)
Long-time activist and friend of the League, Dan Gura, has published his first novel: God’s Avenger: Michael The Imprecatory Angel.
The story is a very timely one: God uses an angel to answer the prayers of the faithful, who petition Him for an end to abortion. Dan is very clear, though, that their prayers are answered by God and not by some action of their own.
The Imprecatory Psalms
Scripture plays an important role in the book and the reader is treated to two men of the cloth who could not be more different in their respect for the Word.
Some Christians may question Dan’s weaving of the Old Testament imprecatory psalms into the storyline, however the forward quotes Pastor James E. Adams’ essay, “May we pray the imprecatory psalms?” and reminds us what such prayer is all about:
When the enemies of God attack us, we deliberately lay down the sword of personal revenge. If we attempt to avenge ourselves we are still seeking our own way, taking things into our own hands.
To pray the imprecations of the Psalms is to surrender all rights for vengeance to God. It means being prepared to suffer and to endure without personal revenge or hatred as Christ did. It involves being gentle and loving even when I am reviled and persecuted. It encompasses acknowledging in all my ways that God’s cause is more important than I am.
These are powerful words but—as any pro-life activist knows—this is the heart of what we do daily.
Nightmares Of The Abortionist
Having read the manuscript, I was drawn into the plot and came to know the characters—both the bad and the good. In particular, the nightmares of the abortionist reminded me of those experienced by Dr. McArthur Hill, a former abortionist who shared his testimony at a Meet The Abortion Providers Conference.
To Buy A Copy
If you’d like to buy a copy, you can buy one at Barnes And Noble or Amazon. Or send him a check for $19.95 to Dan Gura, PO Box 848, Lake Zurich, IL 60047—and he’ll autograph it for you.
There are many good pro-life books out there, and I want to encourage all pro-lifers to continue to promote the pro-life message using their talents: writing, singing, praying, and anything else God has given you!
God's Avenger has a positive message, a theme as old as the Book of Genesis; good versus evil. It offers a scenario where God answers righteous prayers by sending Archangel Michael to dispense divine justice…destruction of Chicago’s largest abortion mill. As you might expect, the city’s bureaucrats do not embrace the miracle quite as quickly as the faithful. Anyone familiar with Chicago and its colorful politicians and civic leaders will enjoy seeing how they react when they come face to face with eternity.
The book takes place over a two day period and follows the characters as they make choices which will forever alter their lives...both in this world and for eternity. Many choose well and are rewards while others remain defiant all the way to the grave.
Joe Scheidler's favorite part is when the abortionist is confronted by his choices.
(from the back cover) Daniel Gura weaves pro-life fervor through an electrifying story of an avenging angel, yet the story has an intrinsic irony and situational humor that brings a smile and wraps itself around your heart. The issue is timely, the characters are fascinating, and Gura's style is spellbinding.
